The North Head Manly project was a new building electrical supply and infrastructure upgrade delivered by DM Electrical for the Harbour Trust under head contractor JXB Projects, supporting the conversion of a historic site into a wedding and events venue. DM Electrical designed, built, and commissioned the new infrastructure servicing Building 16, from a new 400A underground supply through to the final distribution boards.
Engaged under JXB Projects for the Harbour Trust, DM Electrical was responsible for the design, construction, and commissioning of the new electrical infrastructure servicing Building 16. The project began with a new 400A underground supply from Building 9's main switchroom to a new main switchboard within the existing switchroom facility.
From the new main switchboard, DM Electrical installed roughly 200 metres of new 400A underground submains through a network of conduits, pits, and roadway crossings to service the redeveloped building. The new infrastructure was sized to cover the venue's current requirements and allow for future expansion and increased electrical demand.
A new 400A distribution board was installed to supply three dedicated 160A distribution boards serving general power, commercial kitchen services, and mechanical services. This arrangement gives a flexible distribution system that supports the venue's commercial operations, air conditioning, catering facilities, and future tenant requirements.
DM Electrical delivered all associated civil works, underground infrastructure, Level 1 ASP works, Level 2 ASP works, switchboard installations, cable installations, testing, and commissioning. Working within the heritage-listed North Head precinct called for careful planning and coordination so the works were completed to a high standard while protecting the surrounding environment.
The project was completed and handed over to the fit-out contractor, providing reliable electrical infrastructure to support the transformation of the site into a premier wedding and events destination.
