The Plus Fitness Gordon project was an electrical network upgrade and supply augmentation delivered by DM Electrical for a new health and wellness facility, lifting the site's capacity from a 100A three-phase supply to meet a calculated demand of roughly 380A. DM Electrical completed the Ausgrid applications, network design, civil works, and Level 1 and Level 2 ASP installation from design through to commissioning.
An initial site assessment found the existing supply was not enough for the development, with only a 100A three-phase supply feeding the site. The calculated maximum demand for the new gym and associated services was roughly 380A, so a significant network upgrade was needed to support the load.
DM Electrical completed all Ausgrid applications, design submissions, and ASP Level 3 coordination to develop a compliant network solution, including detailed network design and switching arrangements for the capacity upgrade.
The approved design involved significant network works, including a new four-way link box within the ground network, a new double-link network pillar, and a 400A supply to a private pillar. All civil excavation, conduit installation, and cable jointing for the Level 1 scope were completed by DM Electrical.
From the private pillar, DM Electrical delivered the Level 2 scope, including new cable tray systems and four 185mm copper consumer mains run to the rear of the building and terminated at a new main switchboard. The installation also included a 200A submain to a new distribution board for the gym tenancy and a 100A supply to re-feed the existing main switchboard serving the rest of the building.
All works were staged and delivered along Pacific Highway under controlled traffic conditions, which called for detailed planning, lane closures, and coordination with the relevant authorities to keep the works safe and limit disruption.
Despite the network constraints and the construction environment, DM Electrical delivered the project from design through to commissioning, including all Ausgrid liaison, approvals, civil works, electrical installation, testing, and final energisation.
