The Cromer project was an electrical and civil infrastructure upgrade delivered by DM Electrical for Precise Property, replacing the incoming consumer mains and end-of-life main switchboard. The new consumer mains were installed beneath the roadway, with all civil excavation, conduit installation, cable hauling, reinstatement, and electrical works completed by DM Electrical.
As part of the upgrade, all existing metering was relocated from a nearby room and incorporated into the new switchboard arrangement.
A key component was the coordination and connection works with the local Ausgrid substation. DM Electrical worked closely with Ausgrid through the planning and delivery phases to coordinate outages, approvals, network connections, and final energisation, giving a clean transition to the upgraded infrastructure.
To connect the existing building submains, DM Electrical installed three 400A link boxes, extending the existing distribution network onto the new system.
To limit disruption to residents and building operations, the works were planned and delivered during a scheduled two-day weekend shutdown.
